I remember, as I was growing up, there were times when I felt afraid or threatened by something. There was always something very comforting and reassuring about running to my parents and knowing that they were going to protect me from whatever was scaring me. Mom and dad didn’t even have to say anything. Just being near them made everything better. As adults, have you ever felt the same way? Who do we run to for protection?
In Revelation 1:17 it states, “17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” In Revelation 1, the Lord tells us 3 times that He is the First and Last, to reassure us that He was here before any other and He will be here long after all others are gone.
If the Lord is the First and the Last, if only the Lord has the keys to Hades and Death, then who or what on earth should we be afraid of? The Lord promises to protect and provide for us. If He is for us, then who can be against us? Let me put it another way, if He is for us, then who should we be afraid of?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
