I recently read an article about a conversation that 2 pro athletes (2 different sports) had during a chance encounter. One of the athletes has been the center of controversy for a while now do to allegations of illegal substance use. The other athlete is a hall-of-fame athlete. The hall-of-fame athlete asked the other athlete a simple question, “what are you going to do now?” The question was in reference to the allegations. The hall-of-fame athlete was not asking how this athlete was going to fight the allegations, but rather, what was the athlete going to do to be a good role model for children. That got me thinking about our own lives. What do we do after we have sinned?
In Luke 14:11 Jesus states, “11 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
As Christians, we must all admit that we are sinners and will always be sinners. The question is, “what are you going to do after you sin?” Jesus tells us in Luke that if we humble ourselves (admit our sin and repent), we will be exalted. If we allow our pride prevent us from admitting and repenting of our sin, Jesus says that we will be humbled (not a fun experience). The question for us is “what are you going to do now?”
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
