The Great Illusion

I love watching “magicians” do these very large and extravagant illusions on TV. I have watched the Statue of Liberty disappear and reappear. I have seen people “sawed in half” and put back to together. I have seen doves turned into lions. If you just look at these things at face value, you would think that these performers were truly magicians — they had special powers and skills that were causing these great feats. Unfortunately, as you begin to investigate further, you find that these “magicians” are really “performers”. They hold no special powers, but rather are really good actors with props and equipment that cause these illusions. As people look at your spiritual walk, do they see someone with a true commitment and walk with the Lord, or do they see a person creating an illusion?

In Job 9:20 it states, “20 Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me;
Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.”

Do you spend your time trying to live a righteous and blameless life or do you spend your time creating a great illusion?

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
