When we think of “idols” we normally imagine those people that are considered successful, attractive, talented, etc. In general, we think of “idols” as those people that we want to be more like, place on a pedestal and, sometimes, even worship. But, did you know that “idols” aren’t always people, but they can also be things?
In 1 Corinthians 10:14 Paul writes, “14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.” Paul warns us to flee idolatry because it is idolatry that keeps us from Jesus.
Look at those things in your life (material items, relationships, time commitments). What are the “idols” in your life that are keeping you from Jesus. Once you find them, do as Paul taught, flee and return to your Lord.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
