It seems more and more, we owe. We owe businesses, we owe schools, we owe family and friends. It seems that no matter how hard we try, we find ourselves getting deeper and deeper into debt. Now, I realize that I am talking about financial matters, but do you know that we also “owe” when it comes to our spiritual lives?
In Romans 13:8-10 Paul writes, “8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,”“You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
There may be many things that we “owe” in life, but none greater than the love of the Lord to those around us. As you look at your day today, how are you showing it to those around you? As you look at your day today, how much do you owe?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
