Is there unity or division? That is a pretty loaded question and it really depends on what the question is related to. We know that unity on a sports team is one of the key factors for that team to be successful. We also know that people that cause division can create unnecessary problems and inflict needless wounds in those around them. Unfortunately, we don’t just see this in society, but we also see it in churches.
In Romans 16:17-20 Paul writes, “17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”
Division is one of the most effective and damaging weapons that the enemy uses within churches. With division, he can create church splits, cause people to walk away from the Lord, and cause pastors to leave ministry. The local church, your church, doesn’t need division, it needs prayer and fellowship. What the Lord has put together, let no man or division, break it apart.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
