When we are confronted with temptation, we are forced to make a decision — what is most “beneficial” for me. When we are tempted with dessert, we must determine if the taste and satisfaction is worth the weight we will gain. If we are tempted to not go to the gym to workout, we must decide if the guilt of not going feels better than the feeling of having exercised. If we are tempted with sin, we must decide if the “benefit” of sin outweighs the rewards that await us.
In James 1:12 we read, “12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James states that if we can endure the temptation, God has a “crown of life” waiting for us.
As you look at the way that the enemy is tempting you right now, does the sin seem as beneficial as the crown of life? Strive for the crown that the Lord has waiting for you.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
