What is God Saying?

One of the most frustrating things to my wife is when she is talking to me and I do not listen. After talking to me for a while, she will stop and ask “what did I just say?” It is at that point I know that I am caught! The reality is that we have people talking to us all day, but we do not always listen. Has that ever happened to you? Has that ever happened to you when the Lord is speaking?

In Hebrews 1:1-2 we read, “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

The Lord is always speaking to us, but are we listening? We need to take time each day, lay down our phones, shut off the televisions, hide from our family and friends to listen to what the Lord is saying to us. If it is direction, He will show it. If it is knowledge, He will give it. If it is His plan, He will tell it. Whatever you need, He is ready to tell you. Don’t let the Lord ask you, “what did I just say?”

What Have You Done for Me Lately?

I remember growing up listening to a song titled, “What Have You Done for Me Lately”. It was a song that talked about how it didn’t matter what people had done for the singer in the past, it was all about the present. Yes, you may have done nice things for me before, but “what have you done for me lately?” Too often, we ask the Lord the same question — “Lord, what have you done for me lately?”

In Matthew 16:8-11 it states, “But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?[c] Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? 10 Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?”

I don’t think that we spend enough time remembering all that the Lord has done for us in our lives. The healings, the reconcilliations, the provisions. I think if we spent a little more time remembering the past, we would spend less time worrying about the future.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
