How many times have we purchased an item because the deal was “too good to be true?” Let me ask you another question. How many times after purchasing that item did we realize that it was really “too good to be true” and the item ended up failing or disappointing us? There is a very popular statement that says if something is too good to be true, it normally is. That statement makes sense in our purchases, but did you also know that it makes sense in our spiritual life, as well?
In 1 Timothy 1:4 Paul writes, “4 nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.”
There are many people and doctrines that people that are teaching that are “too good to be true”, but unfortunately, they do not teach the Word of God. Paul reminds us that we must be aware of those teachings and focus only on what edifies God — The Word of God. Fortunately for us, the Word of God is “too good”, but it is also “true”!
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
