In most sports, there is an annual process they follow to nominate and elect former athletes into their “hall of fame”. Each candidate is closely scrutinized for their performance “on the field” and off of the field. Those that are elected are praised and spoken highly off. There is a ceremony and there is some memorabilia of theirs that hangs in that sports hall of fame building. While we may not be professional athletes, we also have the opportunity to be nominated to and elected into God’s “Hall of Faith”.
In Hebrews 11:13-16 we read, “13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11 tells us of people from the Old Testament that were elected into God’s “Hall of Faith”.
As you look at your life, your spiritual walk and your faith, are you a candidate for the “Hall of Faith”? Have you lived out your faith in such a way that has made you stand out from the others? Have you lived out the type of faith that will cause the Lord to say “well done good and faithful servant”? Have you lived out the type of faith that will get you elected into God’s “Hall of Faith”?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
