I was recently talking to an individual that owns a small business. It has been years since I talked to this person so they were updating me with what has been happening with their company. This individual is a good, Godly person who has committed their life to serving the Lord. They were telling me that their business has exploded because their prayer life exploded. They stopped asking the Lord to “bless” their company and replaced that prayer with asking the Lord to “use their company” as a ministry. Each morning, they pray with their employees, they have a ministry now of hiring unemployed people to get them back in the workforce and they use the company to tell people about Jesus. They are not excited about the economic growth of the company, but they are excited about the spiritual growth. As you look at your own prayer life, “why are you asking” for what you ask?
In James 4:3 we read, “3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
We all ask for things in our lives, but why are you asking? Do we ask for personal blessings in our lives, or do we ask to be a personal blessing to others? Focus your prayers on being a minister for the Lord and a blessing to others. The Lord loves to bless “ministries”!
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
