In the movie, “Hoosiers”, a story about a high school basketball team in Indiana, there was a player on the team that would not do anything until he heard from God. It was kind of a funny story within the movie. The coach would tell the player to go into the game and he would wait on his knees until God told him to move. It may have been a funny part of the movie, but it does have a deep message — do we seek guidance from the Lord? More importantly, do we wait to hear His answers?
In Numbers 9:21-22 it states, “21 So it was, when the cloud remained only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey. 22 Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey.” The people of Israel would not move until God told them to move. It didn’t matter how long it took for God to speak, they patiently waited.
As you look at your own life, do you patiently wait on the Lord or do you try to take matters into your own hands? Remember, the Lord’s plan and timing are perfect. He knows what you need, when you need it. Seek Him in all things at all times.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
