As we draw closer to Easter, churches all around the world begin to teach about Easter — the significance, the purpose, and the gift. We get so focused on the events of Jesus’ last week on earth, that I worry that we forget the cause of Easter — our sin.
In Isaiah 53:5-6 we read, ” But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”
As we remember the cause of Easter, don’t forget the cost of Easter. Our sin, regardless of how big or small has a cost. It cost Jesus His life, it costs our families, marriages and health. The next time that you are tempted, remember that your sin has a cost.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
