I am sure that you are aware that many athletes have superstitions. For example, many baseball players do the same rituals after every pitch when they are batting. Some athletes have their “good luck” socks that they must wear at every game (I hope that they wash them). Even some athletes have the same routines and schedules that they must follow on “game day”. Regardless of the superstition, these people will follow them because they believe that it improves their chances of winning or having a good game. You see, they have confidence in their superstition, not necessarily themselves or their teams.
In 1 John 5:14-15 we read, “14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
We may laugh at the superstitions and rituals of athletes, but what do you put your confidence in? Is it in things that you believe you can control or is it in the One that controls everything?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
