One of my favorite characters from Seinfeld was “George”. George was a mastermind at doing nothing at work, but making it look like he was extremely busy. In fact, he once was hired by a company to handle a special account, but he didn’t even know what the job was. Day-by-day, he would sit in his office, stare at this file of papers and do nothing. Eventually, he was “caught” and fired from the company when they realized that he had been faking it all the time. It might be funny to laugh at George on TV, but “George’s” in church are no laughing matter.
In Matthew 22:11-13 Jesus tell us, “11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Just like George, if we choose not to have a meaningful relationship with Jesus and simply “act the part”, we too will be found out and cast into outer darkness. Who are you going to be today?
I pray for blessing today for you on your Journey!
