You might not know this, but the California Redwood trees, some of the biggest/tallest known to man could not survive without their roots. I know that you are saying, “all trees need roots”. Yes, you are correct, but although the Redwoods are huge, they have very shallow roots. They survive and are strengthened by their roots growing and tangling up with the roots of other Redwoods. You see, it is their roots that allow them to live and thrive. The same can be said about our spiritual roots.
In Colossians 2:6-7 Paul writes, “6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Paul wrote this letter to the Church of Laodicea, the lukewarm church, and warned them that without deep roots in Christ, they could not survive.
As you look at your spiritual walk, how are your roots? Are you rooted in the Lord? Is your faith established and strong? Do you realize that all you have is from the Lord and do you give thanks daily to Him?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
