There was a season in my family where everything seemed to be caving in. My wife fell and received a concussion that caused her to be in bed for about 1 month. A few weeks later, our oldest son was diagnosed with a large tumor (non-cancerous) in his leg that was going to require surgery. A week after that news, we received news about our youngest son indicating a problem with his hearing that was also going to require surgery. In fact, our sons ended up having surgery a week a part from each other. It seemed that so many trials were coming our way that it seemed impossible to imagine a time of peace in blessing in our lives again. Have you ever experienced those types of seasons in your life?
In Hebrews 6:13-15 we read, “13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
As hard as it was to imagine at the time, blessings did flow from that season in our lives. The health of my family was restored, our faith in the Lord was multiplied and we as a family grew closer. As difficult as it may seem to imagine, if we are patient in our walks and struggles, the Lord will always deliver on His promise.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
