Recently, the city of Houston issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court. There really isn’t a devotional today, but a request for prayer. Pray that God’s Word will always be proclaimed boldly and loudly into the darkness of this world.
We know that the Lord’s Word will not always be popular, but the Bible tells us that it will always be helpful. In Acts 4:1-4 we read, “4 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.”
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
