Why Do We Give Him So Much Power?

There are certain people, either at work or in our family, that we know we should not “mess with”. For whatever reason, we believe that they are smarter, stronger, more forceful than we are.  We know that if we “mess with them”, it will end badly for us. Out of fear, we choose not to address an issue or problem. Unfortunately, it seems that we give that same type of power to satan. But, if satan is so powerful, why did it only take an angel to place him in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years?

Revelation 20:1-3 states, “20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.” The angel was not working with it’s own power, but with the power of the Lord.

Don’t fall into the trap of giving satan power over your life. Rely on the Lord. Call on the Lord. Seek the Lord. If you do, the Lord will give you the strength and power to keep satan bound in your life.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
