I think that it only human nature to look at others around us and think that they are more “blessed” than we are. We seem to think that they are happier, they are smarter, they are healthier, etc….. But, have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “how blessed are you?”
In Genesis 27:38, we read, “38 And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me—me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.” Jacob had tricked his father, Issac, and received the blessing that should have gone to Esau. In his panic, Esau cried out, “Have you only one blessing?”.
We may think that they Lord has “only one blessing” that is intended for someone else. But, never forget that the Lord blesses us all everyday in very different and unique ways. No, it might not be the same as those around you, but the blessings that He pours out on you are designed and destined especially for you. The next time you feel that others are “more blessed”, ask yourself, “how blessed am I”?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
