In the Dark Cloud

How many times have you found yourself in the middle of a trial and felt all alone? The time when you need people the most is when there seems to be no one around you. Yes, I am talking about family and friends, but how many times have you felt abandoned by God?

In 2 Chronicles 6:1 we read, “Then Solomon spoke:“The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.”

We know that the Bible is filled with the Lord’s promises to us. We also know that what the Lord has promised, He will provide. Solomon tells us here that the Lord has promised us that He will be in those “dark clouds” we encounter. He is always with us, always for us, always protecting us.

If you feel that you are alone right now, take comfort. The Lord is with you and He will never leave you.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!

And It Came to Pass

Yesterday, we celebrated Father’s Day. A day to recognize our dads for all of their hard work and effort. Unfortunately, for many people, and for many dads, we were celebrating the “wrong things”.  In other words, what makes a dad “successful”?

In 1 Kings 9:1 it states, “And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he wanted to do,”

Solomon, as wise man and son of King David, celebrated the fact that he had built both the “house of the Lord and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he wanted to do.” Sadly, we do not read of Solomon spending that same time and effort into building his family (children).

Dads, don’t be so focused on building your house that you forget to first build your family on the Lord. A house is just a building. It is a family that makes it a home.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
