For those of you that don’t know, I have been experiencing pretty significant insomnia for sometime. If I fall asleep before 3:30 – 4:00 in the morning, I feel like I went to bed early. I have tried many different things to help relieve this. I have even tried playing “soothing” music that is supposed to help you fall asleep. Guess what? The music didn’t work. But the Lord gave me an idea — try worship music.

1 Samuel 16:23 tells us, “23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

Based upon hearing from the Lord, I downloaded some of the most popular, old hymns that I used to sing with I was a little boy in church. Hearing worship has helped me feel relaxed and refreshed. Even though I have only been trying it for a few days, I believe it is also making me fall to sleep faster. If you find yourself stressed, restless or even exhausted, try worship. Then, “Then Saul would become refreshed and well“. Find your rest in only the Lord so that you may feel refreshed.
