One of our dogs, Oreo, loves chew bones that you buy at the pet store. When we give her one, she will carry it all over the house. She never chews it, just takes it with her wherever she goes. We have learned, however, that we cannot let her take them outside because she buries them. I honestly didn’t think dogs really did that, but apparently they do. As I was watching Oreo carry her bone all over the house this morning, the Lord spoke to me that we all need to be more like Oreo.
We read in Ephesians 6:17, “17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” That’s right, we need to take the Word of God wherever we go.
Dogs love bones, Christians should love the Word of God. Like Oreo, we are called to take the Word of God with us everywhere we go, at all times, both inside and outside of our homes. And, just like Oreo, we must plant God’s Word in the fields as He calls us. No, Oreo’s buried bones will never grow, but we can trust that the planted Word of God will always grow.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
