I recently received a bill for a doctor’s visit and I was shocked at how much it was for. Even though I used to work in the health care industry, and I am familiar with the cost of treatment, I was still surprised at the price. I contacted the doctor’s office and it was all cleared up. You see, since I only pay a small co-payment, not the full bill, I sometimes forget to appreciate how much doctor visits really cost. I think that the same can be said for our salvation.
In Isaiah 53:5 it states, “5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Just like with my medical bill, when it comes to our spiritual “bill” we sometimes forget that although the Lord does ask us to pay a “spiritual co-payment”, we forget that Jesus paid the bill in full. My prayer for all of us today is that we will remember the payment that Jesus paid so that we could receive salvation. Remember, we are free because Jesus has already paid the cost.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
