I Know My House

I recently attended a Habitat for Humanity breakfast. As part of that event, they had a recipient of one of their houses come and speak about what that house meant to them and their family. As they were speaking, they made a bold statement, “I know my house”. What did they mean? Well, this person explained that they went room-by-room before they moved in praying over each room. As they prayed, the Lord gave them a specific verse for each room. They wrote those verses on the foundation, on the beams, on the walls (before they were painted). This person was correct; they do know their house because they know that the Lord is in it.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:11 that “11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. That speaker knows their house because they know that Jesus is in it. In fact, they know that Jesus is the foundation.

As you look at your house,  do you know your house? In other words, do you know that Jesus is there? Is He your foundation? I encourage all of you today to take “ownership” of your house and pray over it. May the Lord give you scripture that you may “write” over every room. May the Lord be your foundation. May you know your house because you know Jesus.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
