If you have ever driven in the mountains, you know that the hardest part is driving up the mountain. When we used to take our RV camping, it always had to work harder to go up. Going down was much easier and faster. The drive up was always worth it so that we could enjoy what awaited us at the top. Doesn’t that sound a lot like our spiritual life?
In Psalms 73:18 we read, “18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.”
Just like driving, out spiritual walk is always hardest when we are working our way towards the top (Heaven). Unfortunately, if we are not going up, then we are going down. Sin will always seem “easier”, unfortunately, it is not the best. As the scripture says, going down leads “to destruction”. Yes, our walk may be hard and require a lot of work, but what awaits us at the top is well worth it.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
