Preparing for the Season

Many of you know that I coach high school football. One of the goals of our preseason schedule is to play very competitive teams.  Why? Because if we play tough teams and have to struggle a little bit, we will be a stronger and better team when we begin to play our league games. It may sound odd, but having to struggle and work hard in preseason makes us a better team. Have you ever looked at the struggles in your life this way?

In Romans 8:18 Paul states, “18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Though our struggles may seem hard, it is out of these trials that we become stronger in our faith. Remember, here on earth, we are merely preparing for the “regular season” that awaits us in Heaven. And, in Heaven, “the glory shall be revealed in us”.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
