Don’t Be Customary

The definition of the word customary is “according to the customs or usual practices associated with a particular society, place, or set of circumstances.” For must of us, we do the “usual things” each day — go to work, school, watch TV, etc… The “usual things” may be comfortable, but if we are to live a Spirit filled life, we should strive to be anything but customary.

In Numbers 29: 1-2 it states, “according to the customs or usual practices associated with a particular society, place, or set of circumstances.” While the Lord was speaking of offerings that were to be given at the Feast of Trumpets, this statement reminded me of what happens when we are not Spirit filled.

When it comes to living a Spirit filled life, our lives should never be customary. Living a Spirit filled life comes with an anticipation and expectation that the “unusual” can and will happen through us. Living a Spirit filled life is living a life not “according to the customs or usual practices associated with a particular society”, but living a life full of power which the Spirit will pour out of you to reach the lost.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
