It seems that there are times when our actions are misunderstood by those around us. What started out to be a kind gesture, is perceived by others as something unkind, deceptive or even worse. We see that sometimes as we exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.
2 Samuel 10:3 reminds us of this issue. We read, ” 3 And the princes of the people of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David really honors your father because he has sent comforters to you? Has David not rather sent his servants to you to search the city, to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”
What David meant as a kind gesture was perceived as something evil and deceptive. Because of this misunderstanding, it cost Ammon and Hanun their lives. Don’t confuse the fruit of the Spirit (kindness, gentleness, patience, …) as tricks of the enemy.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
