Recently at church, we were talking about the need for us to “die to our sins daily”. More specifically, we were studying the need to repent for our sins daily. Repentance is not a “once in a lifetime” event, but rather something we must do constantly. Not just for the “big” sins in our lives, but for all the sins in our lives. No, we may not actually murder someone, but Jesus reminds us that our words and thoughts can do just the same to those around us.
2 Samuel 24:10 says, “10 And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O Lord, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”
May this be a reminder to us that repentance for our sins is a critical and important walk with our Lord. It is through repentance that we acknowledge that our ways do not honor the Lord. It is through repentance that we commit to turn from that sin. It is through repentance that we die to sin daily. It is through repentance that we allow the Lord to forgive us.
I pray for blessing today for you on your Journey!
