1 Kings 3:1 – 3 Now Solomon made a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and married Pharaoh’s daughter; then he brought her to the City of David until he had finished building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall all around Jerusalem.
King Solomon, the son of David, had been richly blessed by the Lord. He was a wise king and sought to honor and please God in all that he did. King Solomon knew that in addition to “building his own house”, he must also build “the house of the Lord”. King Solomon understood that you could not have one without the other. In other words, “his own house” would be nothing without having “the house of the Lord” with him.
Have you build “the house of the Lord” in your own home? We may put much thought, dollars and material items into building our home, but have you first made sure that your house is the “house of the Lord”? Regardless of what your house may look like, how big it is, where it is located, have you first build a house that would be pleasing to the Lord? Our house should be first build on the Lord. Our foundation should be built on His principles. Our rooms should be filled with praise and thanksgiving to Him. And, regardless of where our house is located, we should always make sure that we have placed our house directly in the will of the Lord. So my question to you today is, “have you built your house upon the Lord?”
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
