1 Kings 3:5 – 5 At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
God asked King Solomon a simple but very tricky question — “What shall I give you?” The Lord was offering anything to Solomon, but it was up to Solomon to decide what that would be. Would it be riches, countries, livestock, women or other prized possessions of that time? The answer was no. Of all the things that King Solomon could ask for, what would he answer?
Each day, the Lord asks us the same question — “What shall I give you?” We might not realize it, but the Lord has promised to provide for us and protect us. So, if we do not need to ask for that, what should we ask for? I believe that the Lord asks us this question not to bless us personally, but rather to equip us to bless those around us. If you are to be used by the Lord today, to bless those around you, what do you need from the Lord to accomplish His tasks? When the Lord asks, “What shall I give you?”, make sure you are prepared to answer.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
