The Book of Proverbs is probably one of the most read and popular books in the entire Bible. The verses contained in this book are not only used by Christians, but also people that are just looking for “good life advice”. The “instructions” in the Book of Proverbs range from general life advice to advice for parents on how to raise their children.
Within the first nine verses in chapter 9, we are told that “a false witness will not go unpunished. And he who speaks lies shall perish.” We are sometimes fooled into thinking that there is a difference between a “big lie” and a “small lie”. However, as we read the Bible, we learn that in God’s eyes that is not true. A “small lie” can be just as destructive and hurtful as a “big lie”.
It is a good reminder to all of us that what we say really does matter. More importantly, we will be held accountable for the words that come from our mouth. The next time you are tempted to tell a “small lie”, remember that there is no such thing as a “small lie”. May all of your words honor the Lord and provide blessings for you in Heaven.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
