Jeremiah 9:1 – 1 9 Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!
It is not uncommon to watch sporting events and see fans cry over their team. Either they have just won a championship or they have just lost a championship. Whatever the situation, fans are very passionate and committed to their teams and their favorite players and they do not like to see their team “suffer”. I appreciate those feelings for sports, but do we have those same feelings for the lost?
As I read today’s passage, I was stopped right after the first verse. I kept looking at these words over and over. As I read them and re-read them, I kept hearing the Lord ask me, “how often do we weep for the lost?” How often do we realize that there are people all around us that are broken, hurting and lost? They so desperately want answers, but they don’t even know where to look. To me, that is very sad. The answer (Jesus) is right in front of them, but they don’t even know how to find Him. Perhaps we should spend more time weeping for the lost. Perhaps we should spend more time reaching the lost.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
