Write It Down

Jeremiah 30:1-3 – 30 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, “Thus speaks the Lord God of Israel, saying: ‘Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you. For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’”
I have found that as my life has gotten busier, I have become more forgetful of things. I start out each day with good intentions (people to call, emails to return, etc.), but as my day unfolds, as things change, my attention is put on the events of the day. Not only is my memory bad about “to do” items, it is also forgetful about “God does” items. As our lives get busy and our “to do” lists get longer, we sometimes forget some of the promises and gifts that God has given us.
In today’s passage, the Lord tells Jeremiah, “Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you“. I believe that is good advice that we all should follow. As the Lord speaks to you and as you see the Lord work in your life, take time to “write in a book for yourself“. This will help during those periods when you do not think that the Lord cares about you or is listening. It is during those times that you will be able to look back on your book and see that the Lord has always been there for you and has always provided for you.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
