Jeremiah 32:36-39 – 36 “Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, ‘It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence’: 37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely. 38 They shall be My people, and I will be their God; 39 then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.
I cannot think of one sin in my life that has not come with a consequence. No, maybe not right away, but eventually, it happens. Even if we have repented, we must still deal with the consequence. Many might be confused as to why it happens. “If God forgave me, they why did this happen?” We often forget that it is through the consequences that the Lord corrects us and gets us right with Him again.
In today’s passage, God told Jeremiah that He would destroy a city to deal with the sin of Israel and Judah. No, not because He wanted to punish them, but because He wanted to perfect them. “; 39 then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.” Don’t look at consequences as God punishing us. Look at your consequences as God perfecting us. It is His desire that we have ; “one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.”
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
