Jeremiah 33: 14-16 – 14 ‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: 15 ‘In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. 16 In those days Judah will be saved,And Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called:
I think it is safe to say that we have all been burned by promises. I remember, when I was young, going to the dentist and having him tell me “I promise, this won’t hurt at all”. Unfortunately, he did not use novocaine when he filled cavaties. Well, he was partly right. It may have not hurt him, but I experienced enough pain for the both of us. Or, have you ever heard the phrase, “I promise, I will be there” or “I promise I won’t do that again”. It is hard to feel confident when people say “I promise”…..
Some of us may feel that same lack of confidence when it comes to God. The Bible is filled with His promises to us, but during trials, it is very easy to forget about them. Regardless of how much pain you may be in, how long you have struggled, God has promised that He will “perform that good thing which I have promise”. God and only God is the One that we can trust when He says “I promise”. If He promised it, He will make it happen.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
