Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
This is a verse that is often misquoted. It is most often quoted as God will work all things together for good — so do not worry. The portion about “to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” is dropped off.
Loving God means living according to His Word and living to please Him in all areas of your life. Please him with your words, your actions, your finances, your time . . . While I realize we are an imperfect people, we still need to strive to be Christ like in all areas of our life. Trying to live without sinning and if we do, we are truly repentant. We don’t wake up day after day saying sorry for the same sin, because that is not repentance. When we really come to the point in our life where all we are is “in for Jesus” we can rest assured that no matter what challenging circumstance comes our way in life — He will work it for good. There is a comfort and peace in that beyond anything this earth can give us.
