The Blessing of Faithfulness

Ezekiel 46:12 – 12 “Now when the prince makes a voluntary burnt offering or voluntary peace offering to the Lord, the gate that faces toward the east shall then be opened for him; and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings as he did on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he goes out the gate shall be shut.

Recently, I gave a sermon on the fruit of the Spirit called “faithfulness”. I explained to our church that while we may say we are faithful in many ways, the most significant and meaningful way we show our faithfulness is through our tithes.  While we may not think our tithes are a big deal, it is a very big deal to the Lord. In fact, the Bible talks more about our finances than heaven and hell combined.

My message to the church that day was simple — if we are faithful to the Lord, He will be faithful to us. No, I am not preaching prosperity, but there is an additional level of blessing that falls on people that are faithful to the Lord in their finances.  In today’s passage, it says, “Now when the prince makes a voluntary burnt offering or voluntary peace offering to the Lord, the gate that faces toward the east shall then be opened for him.” This verse reminded me that when we give to the Lord out of faith and love, new blessings and doors are opened. After I gave this sermon, I was blessed by the number of people that shared with me stories of how the Lord has blessed them in their faithful tithing. When we give to God what is His, He opens doors and gates that were once closed.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
