The Wall Completed

Nehemiah 6:15-16  – 15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days. 16 And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.

Walls have many uses.  We use walls as sound barriers.  We use personal walls to keep people away to avoid hurt in relationships.  The Great Wall of China was built to keep invaders out.  But, there is another “great wall” we need to build.

In today’s passage, they wanted to build a wall to protect them from their enemies. It was very effective — “when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.” Before we talk about any other wall, we must first discuss our spiritual wall. If we are to be successful in our walk with the Lord, we must build a wall around our heart, our families and our homes to keep the enemy out so that all will perceive that “this work was done by our God.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
