Passing the Test

Nehemiah 6:11-12 – 11 And I said, “Should such a man as I flee? And who is there such as I who would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!” 12 Then I perceived that God had not sent him at all, but that he pronounced this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

Recently, we have been studying the “Gifts of the Holy Spirit” as listed in 1 Corinthians 12. As I have cautioned our church, all gifts must come from the Holy Spirit and used to Glorify the Lord. I cautioned them because there is a tendency for people to “use” the gifts of the Holy Spirit for their own personal gains.

One of the most “misused” gifts is that of prophecy. The true definition of prophecy is “God talking through someone”. Too often, the actual use of prophecy has nothing to do with God at all. If someone attempts to give you prophecy, you must make sure the test the words given. Through your testing, the words will either be confirmed or you will perceive “that God had not sent him at all,“.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
