Luke 12:5 – 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!
Fear can come in many shapes and sizes. For some, fear is not an issue — they are carefree, daredevils that thrive on those things that scare most. For others, fear paralyzes almost every aspect of their lives — they cannot leave their house, they cannot talk to people. Some people fear small things, like spiders. And, some fear big things, like “the big one”. Most people will say we should not fear, but is that Biblical?
Luke tells us that we must “fear Him!” The Bible tells us that we should fear the Lord, “the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell;” No, our fear for the Lord should not be driven by the false idea that Jesus is “scary”. Our fear should be driven by respect for His power. Whom shall you fear? “the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell;“
