Never Apologize for Your Words

Matthew 15:11 – 11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
I have noticed that when people discover that I am a pastor, they begin to apologize for any inappropriate words that may flow from their mouths. This may startle people, but I am not necessarily concerned about what comes from people’s mouths, as much as I am concerned about what comes from their hearts.
Today’s scripture reminds us that “what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” Yes, words may defile us, but they originate from the heart. Whether they be kind and loving words, or cruel and hurtful words, they all start in the heart. If you notice your words are becoming less like God, don’t wash your mouth out, cleanse your heart.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
