Matthew 24:4-8 – 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
When it comes to Christ’s return, there are many opinions, ideas and theories. In fact, some have made a “living” predicting when Jesus will return. They boldly proclaim a date/time and when that time has passed, they change it to another day. I personally do not get caught up in the “when” of Christ’s return, but I do focus on the “why” of Christ’s return.
In today’s passage, Jesus tells us, “8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” Many look upon Christ’s return with fear because they are not prepared/ready for that day. Jesus tells us that His return is the beginning of something new. The most important day in our lives is not the day of Jesus’ return, but everyday leading up to that day. If we choose to live our lives today honoring Jesus then we have nothing to fear about His return. Live today so that you will not have to worry about tomorrow.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
