Enticed by His Own Lusts

James 1:13-14 – 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

Too often, we look at our failings as something from God. “God is testing me” or “God is teaching me something”. Yes, we may learning something from our failings (I hope we do), but our failings are not initiated by the Lord.

James tells us today, “But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.” We are tempted when we lower our guard and allow satan to enter in. It is safe to say that all of our sin begins and ends with us. As we move away from the Lord, and take our eyes off of Him, we allow that space to be filled by the enemy. That is when we enter into trouble. As satan attempts to entice you, remain strong in the Lord, His Word and His promises.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
