Why Don’t You Ask?

James 1:5 – But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
I remember traveling once with my family to Washington D.C. during Thanksgiving break. When we got to the hotel, it was empty (DC shuts down during Thanksgiving). For the heck of it, I asked if they could upgrade our room at the same price we were currently paying. The clerk check the available rooms and then upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost. Why did they do that? Because we asked.
James reminds us today that the same thing happens with the Lord. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. It is the Lord’s desire to give “to all generously”, but we must first be willing to ask. No, we will not always get what we want, but if we ask according to His will and Word, the Bible promises that there are many great blessings in store. Knowing that it is the Lord’s desire to bless you, why don’t you ask?
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
