James 1:2-3 – 2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
I have learned that in my life, the greatest times of growth (physically, emotionally and spiritually) have come as the result of the greatest challenges I have faces. It was through those challenges that I learned more about myself, learned to trust the Lord more and submitted more of me to Him. As I look back, it is safe to say that I would not be the person I am today without those trials.
James reminds us today that rather than lament those trials, we must, “Consider it all joy“. We can’t stop the trials and challenges from coming our way, but we can control how we respond to them. It is a natural tendency to “run and hide”, but history has shown that this strategy is never effective. We receive “joy” in knowing that our faith is being tested and strengthened resulting in a more complete and perfect person in God’s eyes. Remember, the challenges of today will eventually fade away, but the joy we can only receive from the Lord will remain with us forever.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
