Matthew 20:6-7 – 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he *said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’ 7 They *said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He *said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’
Have you ever noticed that when there are a group of people working on a project, there are also some people that just stand around and watch? Yes, there is plenty of work for all to do, but some just don’t feel the need to participate. I am sure that their thoughts are either they don’t need to help or they don’t want to help. Either way, what happens is that the other people must work harder and longer to complete the task. Unfortunately, sometimes, not all of the work gets completed.
In today’s scripture, we read of a very well known story of laborers in the Vineyard. All day the owner went and found workers to work and paid them accordingly. As he went out in “the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around;“. There were people “standing here idle” because nobody had asked them to work. Perhaps you find yourself today “standing here idle” when it comes to the Lord’s work because nobody has asked you to get involved. Remember this, there is much work to be done in the name of Jesus. If you are idle today, pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction to lead you to a field that you can work.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
