1 Thessalonians 5:11 – 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
A friend in Christ is one who you can not only talk with, but one that you can pray with. Depth and meaning in a relationship comes from sharing a love and devotion to Christ. Think about the people you know that others may look at and say you are “friends” with. If you were honest, most are just acquaintences because you cannot dig deep into that relationship and share your love for the Lord together.
A friend is one who who can offer comfort through prayer and one who edifies. Edifies means someone who can give instruction or direction in life that helps you improve morally. Such comfort and edification can only come from knowing God’s holy word. We are called to be friends who are not superficial. A true friend gives wise and Godly advice and a true friends cares that you are living your life according to God’s word. If you fail, your friend should pray for God’s peace in your life. If you are straying or living in sin, a truly Godly friend should lovingly help get you back on the right track. Be a friend to someone today!
I pray for blessing today for you on your Journey!
