Leviticus 14:9 – 9 It will be on the seventh day that he shall shave off all his hair: he shall shave his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair. He shall then wash his clothes and bathe his body in water and be clean.
“Off with the old, on with the new!” I am sure we have all heard this saying and perhaps even said it a time or two. It means getting rid of old things in our life and replacing that with new and exciting things. It could mean lifestyles, clothes or even attitudes. We are saying “goodbye” to what no longer works and saying “hello” to things that will make us better people.
Letivicus 14 deals with how the Israelites were to deal with lepers that had been healed and restored. God told Moses that when they were to return, they must, “shave his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair. He shall then wash his clothes and bathe his body in water and be clean”. In other words, “out with the old and in with the new”. When the Lord has truly healed and cleansed us, we must get rid of those things in our lives that lead to our sinful nature and lifestyles. We must cleanse ourselves so that the Lord may make us into the image that He has for us. If we can’t get rid of the old (sin), we can never receive the new (Jesus).
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
